As I watched the sun through the trees in our back yard the other day, it made me so happy to be in such a beautiful area. There are so many trees! I don't think I ever knew it growing up, but I sure do appreciate it now.

Photography

I did a fun family photoshoot a couple of weeks ago. Click here to see more. I am slowly building a portfolio that I can do something with. It has been slower than I hoped, but family life keeps me busy so I have to pace myself. My goal is to get a website going one of these days and do a couple of sessions a month. Slowly but surely.

Sherry and Jeff

We had a great trip home filled with many adventures. The main highlight was having the pleasure of going to Peter's sister's wedding and photographing it for them. They had a gorgeous outdoor reception with bright vibrant wedding colors. They were such a cute couple, Jeff seems like a great guy for Sherry. We did a quick portrait session at the temple a couple of weeks ago. I think they turned out well.

A Rose is a Rose

I have been way too lazy about posting pictures lately. This is a shot of Eden's birthday roses from a couple of weeks ago. I don't know why, but I really haven't been taking as many pictures and videos as I usually do. Bad, bad, bad Cilla. I will do better! I have been working on my 2008 blog book, reading the potty training book among other projects and chasing monkeys around all day so I guess I can't be too hard on myself.

Moon

As we were going to bed a couple of weeks ago, I noticed how bright and beautiful the moon looked. Even though I was tired I couldn't resist going downstairs, wrapping up in a blanket and braving the cold night to capture nature's beauty. It took a while to figure out how to get a good result but it was well worth having a cold bum from sitting out on the concrete patio!

Environmental Self Portrait

My last assignment for my class was to do an environmental self portrait. The only requirement was that we had to take it ourselves and it was supposed to represent your environment. I couldn't think of anything but kids in my environment so this is what I came up with. I was thinking about that church painting with the woman holding a baby in her night gown. I do really like it, but I don't love it. I am too busy to take the time to do another shoot so it will do. I accidentally had my ISO way too high so there is noise. Other than that I thought it turned out pretty good. My favorite is the way his cute little feet are showing. Oh, and I am actually in a picture, that is rare proof that I exist.
